Kristen Laughlin

Kristen has more than a decade of experience in capital markets and global consulting spaces. She specializes in forging strategic partnerships and facilitating international investments in a variety of sectors, including healthcare, fintech, real estate and technology.
Working through a carefully cultivated network of key decision makers and market leaders in a variety of industries and locations throughout the world, Kristen's efforts have produced hundreds of millions of dollars in cross-border investments and increased revenue for clients.
Prior to founding Avion in 2016, Kristen spent several years working in international business consulting and capital markets, before moving into private equity, where she built two global private equity funds in real estate and healthcare. She frequently travels overseas to speak to investors and business executives on the topics of international marketing, business development, foreign investment, and capital raising.
In 2018, Kristen received the prestigious Marshall Memorial Fellowship through the German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMFUS). She also serves on the Advisory Board of Impulse4Women, an international organization focused on helping women-owned companies with access to capital. Additionally, Kristen is a former Fellow (inaugural cohort) for Hu-Manity, a for-profit, blockchain company focused on data privacy and property rights.
She is also a founding committee member and co-chair of the transatlantic Women on Corporate Boards Training Summit backed by GMFUS, which held its inaugural event in April 2019. In June 2019, she was one of four on a steering committee to conceptualize and launch a first-of-its-kind, cyber security crisis simulation event at GLOBSEC--one of the world’s preeminent security forums. Held in Bratislava, the event was partially sponsored by NATO and the Global Cyber Alliance.
A leader in her local community, Kristen was the Chair of the Board of Directors of a language-immersion primary school, overseeing the school’s opening. She currently serves in an advisory capacity to Baldwin Wallace University-- her alma mater-- from which she graduated summa cum laude with degrees in Economics, International Studies, and French.
